Essay Freelance Writers | CPHI 101—Concordia University Irvine Argumentation Essay Professor Robb Ring

Final paper: Beginning a contemporary issue with philosophical/ethical questions, write a well-structured essay exploring the ethical value of the issue (i.e right or wrong) incorporating various “philosophers, ethical approaches/theories/principles (lenses) that we discussed in class to examine the “problem” and arguing both for and against the same issue. Describe, define and explain the issues and arguments using as much course related terminology and material as possible.
Essay Requirements
5-7 pages or 1200-1800 words, MLA style. See Hacker Handbook for correct format.
Required: 5 scholarly sources:
1-2 short news articles OK, but they aren’t the most useful except for familiarizing (Wikipedia or other Wikis MIGHT be helpful to lead you to scholarly sources; however, they can only be a supplemental source):
Required: Use of at least 5 different philosophers or schools of thought discussed in class (or more!).
  • Required: You need at least THREE paper sources (and the rest GOOD electronic ones) Paper OK Journal from JSTOR or Lexis-Nexis, but you must use whole article, not just Abstracts.
Good, energetic prose; well-reasoned discussion of topic and why a problem is “philosophical/ethical” and not just a solvable problem. Make recommendations by arguing what principles, questions, or assumptions should be most heavily weighted. Be careful that your arguments do not weigh heavily on validity (provable, empirical facts or truths)
This is a research paper so include any pertinent historical, socio-economic, medical, legal, or psychological background research as you make your arguments. Good ethical reasoning includes HOW YOU DECIDE or a discussion of WHO gets the ultimate right to decide.
Required: All papers must include explicit use of philosophical vocabulary and classification of arguments or approaches.
Final copy: stapled upper left; no covers please.
Think about & research the following:
What is the philosophical/ethical PROBLEM
Where does the situation show one or more CONFLICTS of worldviews?
Who or what stands to gain or lose?
What do you believe is/are the chief question(s) the situation raises?
What intermediate questions do you need to research to answer the chief question? What historical, sociological, economic, legal or other precedents apply to the situation?
Which philosophical/ethical theories or principles help you answer your chief question? (min. of 2)
